Unlike all other captains, he does however not have any mercenaries for hire. There he acts as the mercenary captain of the act and will resurrect dead mercenaries for a fee. He later appears as an permanent NPC in the Pandemonium Fortress in Act IV. He first appears in-game in Act II where the player rescues him from Tal Rasha's Tomb where he's been imprisoned by Baal and Diablo. Tyrael is also impersonated by Baal in the first and last cinematic of Diablo II Classic. He appears in many cinematics, during which he is seen battling Diablo, giving the soulstones to the Horadrim, and eventually destroying the Worldstone. ![]() He is portrayed as the primary force to balance the Prime Evils in the game, acting as a rogue angel against the wishes of Heaven.
